In
1972, our founder began this business on this simple but basic
principle: “There is no substitute for quality.” Because
of this standard, customers in our area began to find the higher
quality of products and services that they were looking for at
Angus Meats. By word-of-mouth, from chef to chef, and from neighbor
to neighbor, our company grew and prospered. Over the years, we
continually find that a large portion of the market still want
the best value for their dollar. That’s exactly what we
strive to provide at Angus Meats – the highest quality of
products and services at the best possible prices. Acting together
with our customers, our employees, our suppliers, with the associations
that we participate in, and with the United States Department
of Agriculture (USDA) we are ‘Partners in Quality.’
Sanitation and Product Integrity is our highest priority. As a USDA inspected manufacturing plant, Angus Meats strives to achieve a higher standard of cleanliness unsurpassed in our area. Our industry requires three U.S.D.A. programs, all of which have their own set of monitoring documentation that is regularly reviewed by an on-site USDA inspector.
- Total Quality Control (TQC)
- Standard Sanitation Operational Procedures (SSOP), and
- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Program (HACCP)
Each
program was approved by the USDA and successfully implemented before
any other wholesale meat business in the Spokane area, and we were
the second wholesale meat company in Washington State to implement
the TQC program. But, Angus Meats prefers to do better than industry
standards. On our own initiative, we incorporated an additional
three safety and sanitation programs for a total of six (6). Operating
daily within these voluntary programs, all of our dedicated and
hard working employees are 100% committed to produce consistent
top quality products and provide the finest professional service
possible.
Reputation is everything. Over the years, we have had the esteemed honor of being recognized for our efforts:
- 2007 – Agora Award presented by Greater Spokane and Incorporated for outstanding business achievement.
- 2006 – Nominated by the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce
for the year’s outstanding business Agora Award, and achieve
the top 5 finalists of our category.
- 2005 – Nominated by the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce
for the year’s outstanding business Agora Award, and achieved
the top 5 final list of our category.
- 2004 – Sheriff’s Office Certificate of Appreciation
for “your generous commitment and support of SCOPE and the
Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. Your participation has
made our neighborhoods a safer place.”
- 2004 – Nominated by the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce
for the year’s outstanding business Agora Award, and achieved
the top 10 semi-finalists of our category.
- 2003 – Nominated by the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce
for the year’s outstanding business Agora Award.
- 2002 – United Retail Merchants (URM) Food Expo & Selling
Show for “Best Booth Award.”
- 2000, 2001, & 2002 – ACF Appreciation Award
“for outstanding service and commitment to the Chefs De
Cuisine.
- 2000 – The Spokane Chapter of the American Culinary Federation
(ACF) awarded Angus Meats Purveyor of the Year
as well as the Associate Member of the Year.
- 1999 – The Spokane Chapter of the American Culinary Federation
(ACF) awarded Angus Meats Associate Member of the Year.
- 1991 – The Spokane County Hotel & Restaurant Council awarded Angus Meats the Industry’s Supplier Company of the Year Award for “outstanding service to its members.”
Over the years, we have also received several individual honors
and awards from these and other associations to some of our most
outstanding employees for their dedication and service. This kind
of recognition symbolizes the pride and commitment of who we are
and what we stand for – Quality!
